RAYONTA WHITFIELD TRAINS IN HOUSTON
FOR HOMETOWN TITLE BOUT
PREPS FOR ALL-ACTION BATTLE AGAINST
SAN DIEGO’S ESPINOZA
World ranked flyweight Rayonta “STINGRAY” Whitfield is training at the Savannah Boxing Club in Houston, Texas, under the guidance of world renowned trainer Ronnie Shields, in preparation for his NABO Title battle against Sergio “THE SAN DIEGO SENSATION” Espinoza.
Their twelve round headline bout, part of an action packed evening of world class professional boxing set for Saturday, February 27th at the Bell Auditorium in Augusta , Georgia , is presented by TKO Boxing Promotions.
“Camp in Houston has been perfect. I’ll be here sparring and training with Ronnie until a couple of days before the fight. We’re putting in the hard work that will payoff on February 27th” said the 28 year old Whitfield.
With a record of 23-1-0 (11KO’s), Whitfield will be fighting in front of a “loud and proud” packed house at the Bell Auditorium for the fourth time in his career. He currently is world ranked # 4 by the IBF and # 5 by the WBO. The 31 year old Espinoza brings a record of 16-6-1 (5KO’s) into the title bout.
“I’ve watched tapes of Espinoza and he’s a very aggressive fighter, always coming forward. I’ll have to use my counter punching abilities but it should make for an all-action fight for the fans” continued Whitfield.

The Bell Auditorium is located at 712 Telfair Street in Augusta, Georgia; doors on the evening of the event will open at 6:30pm with the first bell at 7:30pm.
