Said the 22 year old Remillard, “This fight is a huge step for my career. I’m thrilled to be with a terrific new promoter who can get me the right fights and truly move my career. We’ve got a busy 2009 planned and by the end of the year I’d like to be facing a top 20 guy in my division.”

Remillard, 16-0-0 (8KO’s), is coming off a terrific win over former world champion Mauricio Pastrana on November 13th in Providence, Rhode Island.

“Although it was only a six rounder, it was my toughest fight; Pastrana is so smart that you have to adjust to many different things in the ring. He’s also very strong which made for a tough fight, but the experience was more than worth it” said Remillard.

The bout with Perez will be the Remillard’s first outside of his native New England area. Perez, 25-24-3 (14KO’s) is coming off an outstanding eight round battle with Carney Bowman on March 7th in York, PA.

Continued Remillard, “I love the chance to fight in front of a new audience, many of whom have never seen me fight before. I want to put on a great performance and really want to fight to impress the Baltimore fight fans.

In 2001, he scored a ninth round TKO of former junior middleweight champion David Reid.
