RUSTAM NUGAEV VS. MIGUEL HUERTA IN CO-MAIN AT “SUMMER SHOWDOWN” ON JULY 10TH AT RENO EVENTS CENTER

An outstanding ten round lightweight battle has been added to “SUMMER SHOWDOWN” on Friday July 10th at the Reno Events Center as Russian Rustam Nugaev will battle Mexico City’s Miguel Angel Huerta in the co-main event, it was announced today.

“SUMMER SHOWDOWN”, an evening of world class boxing, is presented by Reno’s “Let’s Get It On” Promotions and Las Vegas based TKO BOXING Promotions.

Recently signed to the Reno based “Let’s Get It On” Promotions banner, the 26 year old Nugaev, brings a record of 19-5-1 (11KO’s) into the battle with Huerta. He is riding a four bout winning streak, all of the bouts coming in his native Russia, most recently knocking out former world title challenger Justin Juuko in the second round on November 15, 2008, capturing the International Boxing Association Lightweight Title.

In his last bout in the United States, Nugaev brutally knocked out undefeated prospect Anthony Mora in the fifth round on March 3, 2006. The fight was broadcast live on SHOWTIME from Santa Ynez, California.

Now based in Los Angeles, Nugaev is a frequent training partner of boxing’s Pound For Pound king, Manny Pacquiao.

Huerta, 27-10-1 (18KO’s), has faced numerous world champions and contenders over his ten year career and was a staple on Univision’s long running Friday Night Boxing Series, SOLO BOXEO. Wins on his ledger include notable names such as Daniel Alicea, Efren Hinojosa, Allen Vester, Darling Jimenez and Martin Honorio.

Said Terry Lane of “Let’s Get It On” Promotions, “We’re thrilled to bring Rustam to Reno for his first fight here. We feel that he has all the tools to become a world champion. Although his last four bouts have been in Russia, we’re confident that his action packed style of fighting will make him a favorite in Reno and the rest of the United States.”

“With this fight, Huerta is a very tough, Mexican warrior who will stay in the pocket and truly battle Rustam which should make for a very entertaining fight for the fans.”

“SUMMER SHOWDOWN” is headlined by a ten round light heavyweight showdown between The Fighting Pride of Northern Nevada, Jesse Brinkley and Baltimore’s Mike Paschall.

Priced at $128.25, $78.25, $53.25 and $33.25, tickets for “SUMMER SHOWDOWN” can be purchased through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com , phone 775-787-8497) and The Reno Events Center Box Office.
