CARNEY BOWMAN VS. DELVIN PLACENCIA HEADLINES
“THE BATTLE OF YORK 4”, SATURDAY AUGUST 1ST

Carney “BEEPER” Bowman, the Fighting Pride of Central Pennsylvania, will battle hard hitting Dominican Delvin Plascencia in the main event at “THE BATTLE OF YORK 4” on Saturday, August 1st at the Sovereign Bank Stadium, home of the York Revolution baseball team.

“THE BATTLE OF YORK 4” is presented by Chet Koerner’s TKO BOXING Promotions, originators of the nationally acclaimed “HOMETOWN HEROES TO WORLD CHAMPIONS” professional boxing series.

The 26 year old Bowman, born and raised in York, brings a record of 13-0-0 with five knockouts into the eight round featherweight bout. His last three victories have taken place at the Valencia Ballroom in York; most recently winning a hard fought eight round decision over Columbian veteran Jesus Perez on March 7, 2009.

Now based in Irvington, New Jersey, the 30 year old Placencia holds a record of 15-1-0 with six knockouts. Making his debut in the United States on June 18th in Baltimore, MD, Placencia fought in a sensational six round battle with the same Jesus Perez, losing a very close decision.

Said Koerner, “This bout is an outstanding featherweight matchup between two terrific prospects with similar records. Carney has looked better each time he’s fought, particularly his last three bouts in York.”

“Placencia and Jesus Perez engaged in a terrific battle last month in Baltimore and this fight with Carney should provide fireworks from the opening bell. It’s exactly the kind of action packed fight that fans should expect at “THE BATTLE OF YORK 4”.

Also appearing at “THE BATTLE OF YORK 4” will be York ’s Eric Nemo, 7-1-1 (3KO’s) and Stevie Weimer, 3-0-0 (2KO’s), Dominican knockout artist, welterweight Francisco Contreras, 9-0-0 (9KO’s), Johnstown cruiserweight Andres “ TAYLOR MADE” Taylor , 8-1-0 (4KO’s), undefeated featherweight Rafael Lora, 10-0-0 (5KO’s), undefeated Philadelphia middleweight Dennis Hasson, 8-0-0 (2KO’s) and the pro debut of Lancaster’s Naziyr Bell.
