JOEY GILBERT IS BACK ON SATURDAY NIGHT IN NEVADA

Super middleweight contender Joey Gilbert will return to the ring Saturday night against Pomona’s Ivan “SITTING BULL” Stovall in the eight round main event at “RURAL RUMBLE/FALLON FIGHTS 2009” at the Churchill County Fairgrounds in Fallon, Nevada.

Gilbert, 17-2-0 (13KO’s), fighting out of Reno, Nevada, is coming off a twelve round decision loss to cross-town rival Jesse Brinkley on February 14th, a bout in which he battled the second half of the fight bleeding from a badly broken nose.

“It’s good to be back on the horse as they say. After being in with a tough, heavy puncher like Jesse with a broken nose, I feel like I can deal with anything. For me its back to the basics, I’ve got some skills but at the end of the day I’m a rugged, solid puncher and that’s how I plan to fight Stovall on Saturday night” said Gilbert.

About specifically facing Stovall, Gilbert said, “I haven’t seen him fight so I’ll have to make adjustments on the fly, but I’ve trained hard and I’m in great shape. I’ll be ready for whatever he tries.”

Said Terry Lane of “Let’s Get It On” Promotions, “Joey’s in great shape and the fans in Northern Nevada should see a terrific performance on Saturday night from him.

Gilbert is promoted by Chet Koerner’s TKO BOXING Promotions. Said Koerner, “We’ve talked numerous times since Joey’s fight with Brinkley. We both know believe we’ll see a much better fighter on Saturday night. Joey’s back on the horse and the first step is his fight with Ivan Stovall.”

Tickets for “RURAL RUMBLE/FALLON FIGHTS 2009”, presented by Reno’s “Let’s Get It On” Promotions and the City of Fallon, starting at $15 for adults and $10 for kids 17 and under, are available now through the Fallon Convention Center by calling 866-232-5566 or 775-423-4556.
