Cordova, Jr. ready for comeback!
Marvin "Much Too Much" Cordova Jr. will be the first bout on the August 29th's much-anticipated PPV event "Latin Invasion" featuring Hector Camacho Jr vs Israel Cardona. Cordova, now training with former world champion and living legend James "Buddy" McGirt Sr., has been making some changes in his career and training techniques.
"The last fight in Vegas with Laurenta was my doing," says Cordova. "I take responsibility for my loss. I'm not taking anything away from Larenta. He did what he was supposed to do, but I wasn't ready with my hand injury, that I kept to myself. Not preparing correctly, the end result was losing my undefeated recor. But that was then and this is now.
"My promoter Zeferino Ramirez still and always believes in me and with my new management team. There's no stopping me. Ive learned the hard way. I can't win every fight with just my talent. Physical preparation is very important for every fight. This time out I have learned a great deal. I have been in Vero Beach training for almost seven weeks and perfecting my style. Buddy has taught me a great deal in a short time and I feel great. I'm at 100% now a week before the fight.
" I cant wait to get back in the ring to show the world the previous loss was a fluke, I respect Earnest Johnson. He's no lay down - he coming to win, but my mindset is too strong and I feel unbeatable! The world will see that Cordova Jr. is not only back with a vengeance, but will soon be a world champion!"
